I have always enjoyed Kayaking but I don't have room for it in my car and I don't want to spend money on a top rack that could mess up my car. So San Francisco-based designer Anton Willis designed the Oru Origami Kayak ($TBA). You can now take your kayak with you anywhere you go. When fully expanded, the Oru folding kayak is about 12 feet long, and weighs about 25 pounds and takes 5 minutes to assembly.

Adam S. Doyle is the creator of these beautiful bird paintings. Its like he just took his brush once in small strokes and made these incredible pieces.

"Yes, what you see is what it appears to be—strokes of paint. I’ve always loved unfinished paintings because you could see the alchemic process of surface and paint transforming into a living person. With my paintings, it does take quite a bit of working and reworking to arrive at the place where every brush stroke fits into a fluidly flowing whole. It’s important to me to find a balance between an elegance of form that holds both visible marks of paint and a representation of ‘energy within’. I’ll just add that the painterly craft of my images, which I consider secondary to investigating ideas and concepts, came about after a lifetime of expressive image-making, followed by doggedly exploring the aforementioned transformation in grad school. I realized during that same formative period that I was also captivated by trying to visualize energy, which I was quite familiar with having grown up with a dad who practiced Eastern medicine."

Doyle most recently had a show at Skylight Gallery in 2011 and is now currently working on a new body of work in Hong Kong. You can see much more of his work on his website.

Daily shape is (yet another) daily project by (yet another) designer Jac (jacinabox) and she has been creating random shapes every day for the past 3 months now. There are a few restrictions placed on this daily project, and they are…

• Only basic shapes and patterns.
• Must take less than 10 minutes to create.
• No frills, vectors, textures, gradients or other fancy business.

Apartment buildings and residential houses take off and fly in this creative series by photographer Laurent Chehere. This French artist took photographs of real houses and then inserted them into the sky.  Its purpose was to show us the hidden beauty of each structure. See more houses on Laurent's site

21 Swings is an interactive installation in Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles. It 's a swing that makes different musical notes as the swing moves and the music changes as additional people join in the fun.

"The result is a giant instrument made of 21 musical swings; each swing in motion triggers different notes, all the swings together compose a piece, but some sounds only emerge from cooperation."

 DMVA Architect the ones who were responsible for the mobile Blob VB3 design were asked to add an extension to this A-framed house.  The owner wanted to reconvert his holiday home into a more comfortable, contemporary house.  So they came up with a floating volume, a tunnel built with trapezoidal wooden constructions. The new extension on the house connects the old and the new parts and creates the basis for the dimensions of the library, new bathroom and entrance. The homes back and front-side are fully glazed but on the street view side you can get some privacy by moving the partition wall that was built in if you want. Overall this A-frame got an A style design extension added into the all ready interesting styled home.

The Impossible Project has launched the Impossible Instant Lab on Kickstarter. It transforms any digital image via an iPhone into an instant photo that is exposed by using the light from the display, then it's processed and developed by chemicals. This device makes an image that can be view without the use of a phone anymore.

Pretty neat huh? Would you get one of these to turn your images from digital back to analog?

We all know that lately it has been about how big and how slim can we make TV's. So Sony has taken it a step further and has created the  84" Sony XBR 4K TV ($24,999). This new flagship set offers a 3840 x 2160, LED-backlit LCD panel, the 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine to seamlessly upscale lower-resolution content, 3D capabilities, a 10 Unit Live Speaker system cranking out virtual 5.1 surround sound, and built-in Wi-Fi for accessing online content.

I'm sure I will not be seeing this TV in my house for a couple of years, however, that doesn't mean I can't go to a Sony store and mess around with one. Check out Sony's website to get more information on this 4K TV.
