So NASA/JPL are giving away these amazing posters for free. These posters are a continuation of the Exoplanet Travel Bureau poster series first created by JPL’s design studio last year. When NASA came to them asking for additional posters in the series, they were able to integrate many ideas the agency had already been spit-balling for the future—such as floating cities hovering above Venus. So check out more of the posters here and start printing away for new wall pieces.
Over my time in Florida. I have gotten the chance to get to know this producer Gary Goode. He is a talented individual with a passion and ear for music. Don't just take my word for it though, just have a listen to his newly released EP "Dreamcatcher". From the beginning to the end you're on a trip of dreaming proportions that tickle the ears of the progressive house sound. Tracks like "Come Again", "BT- Communicate (Gary Goode Booty)" and "Sun Kissed" are a magical world of amazing sounds that as you go along catch your ear and have you leaving wanting more. If your still not on board yet or you're ready to go, check out his new EP release below or on Soundcloud. Did I mention yet? That he is giving away his first EP!
Gary Goode was also kind enough to answer a few questions for me about his style. So continue reading on and find out what this artist has to say about his musical style.
TCL: What influenced your desire to make music?
Gary: I have always had a passion for music. My mother played piano and flute. I grew up playing violin then saxophone in middle and high school. I also grew up listening to all types of music and I mean all types. I was a military brat, so that helped out as well with the constant exposure of different types of music from different areas.
In the mid-90's I listened to a lot of Pop and Dance music. When I moved to Millington, TN I got into a lot of underground southern hip hop. Project Pat, La Chat, Gangsta Boo, pretty much all of Three 6 Mafia, 8ball & MJG, UGK, because they were all from the area. Great stuff, really. Then I moved back to Virginia Beach and started getting into Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Neptunes, Clipse, when they started to get big. Because they were also from the area.
I decided to go to school for music back in 2008 and went to the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, FL. While I was there, I knew ultimately that I wanted to produce music for a living. I dabbled production wise with in Pop and Hip Hop since those were my influences at the time. A couple months into attending school, a friend of mine introduced me to a podcast on iTunes called Dance Department. They were free, hour long mixes of some of the best music I've ever heard from some really creative artists, producers and DJs. House music. After that, my soul was sold. All I listened to from then on was House music and realized that THIS was the music I wanted to make.
TCL: What does this EP Dreamcatcher mean to you?
Gary: I arranged every song on Dreamcatcher starting in November of 2014. I made the title single, Dreamcatcher, then Come Again, then my bootleg of Communicate one after the other within 3 days. To me this meant that, after experimenting with all the different sounds and styles that make up House music, I've found a style that comes naturally and almost effortlessly. It didn't seem like I had to try too much to sound like everyone else. Dreamcatcher, Come Again and Communicate weren't pretentious to me. That meant that I had not only developed a style that spoke to me internally and felt comfortable with, but I was able to produce original music and bootlegs of music that inspired me, hence the Communicate Bootleg. It was very rewarding at the time.
TCL: Who are some of your favorite artist right now?
Gary: Hmmm, I tend to avoid that question the most because, as cliché as this sounds, I don't have one. Or better yet, they're ALL my favorite. There are too many producers, DJs, and artists inspires me so I can't pick just a few. If you were to ask who I am listening to at the moment I would say Weiss, Prok&Fitch, Roger Sanchez, Christian Smith, Wehbba, Juliet Fox, Tina V, René Amesz, Technasia, Mark Knight, Rafaelle Rizzi, Stefano Noferini, UMEK, Dosem, Muzzaik, DJ Anna, Green Velvet, Sharam, Harry Romero...that's just to name a few :)
TCL: Who would you really like to collaborate with on a song if you could?
Gary: Gosh, another difficult question! I would have to say any of the producers from the previous question. They are all different and innovating to me in their own respective right, and have paved a sturdy and successful path in their careers. Such a great learning and growing opportunity it would be for me!
TCL: What can we look forward to next in your desire to make music? Any new projects?
Gary: I am always working on music, or at least trying to, you know, with my full time job and all (*sad face*). Like I mentioned before, I am extremely fond of all aspects of House. I started out heavily into EDM, believe it or not, and I am still just as equally as passionate about it, but right now I want to make people dance, not just make them "throw their f*&king hands in the air." So, I'm dipping my fingers into Tech House and Techno. I feel a really deep connection with those two right now. Heavy basslines, jackin' beats, weird synths and sounds. Sounds like fun!
I'm also gathering all my inspiration from current producers and DJs that I am listening to. And while my Dreamcatcher EP was meant to officially introduce myself as a producer and gain some exposure, I am only hoping to grow ever more with my production skills and land a spot on a Beatport chart and/or major label!
If you enjoyed this artist follow him on Soundcloud and Facebook. Happy listening!

February 10th is known as Safer Internet Day. In that being said Google is giving an extra 2GB of Google Drive storage to anyone who completes this security checkup by February 17th.
This checkup makes sure your account recovery information is current, asks you to review recent sign-in activity, and lets you see which apps and devices can access your account. (Which is good practice anyways). It's worth it since Google will gift you with extra storage.
The company says it’ll give qualifying Google Drive accounts the boost on February 28 and you’ll get an email confirming the change.
UPDATE: Google Apps for Work and Google Apps for Education users are not eligible for the bonus storage but should still consider taking the Security Checkup.

I'm a big fan of Ghostly International and was excited to see them providing a FREE download of their new Ghostly Swim 2 album courtesy of Adult Swim and Ghostly International, which was released on Dec 23rd, 2014. So if you missed this in the hustle of the holidays, then no worries The Collective Loop has got you covered. You can listen to a sampler of the album below and download here.
So while you're listening to the sampler below read a little bit further about Ghostly International or visit them to find all the cool stuff and good music.
Legend has it that Brian Eno’s concept of ambient music came to him while laid up in a hospital bed after an automobile accident in the ’70s. A friend brought him some records, playing them too low to be properly heard, and Eno couldn’t get out of bed to adjust the volume. While the record spun softly, Eno’s idea for music you could ignore as easily as you could give it your full attention, like a sort of sonic wallpaper, was born. It’s in that spirit of quiet isolation that Ghostly International, in association with Adult Swim, shares Ghostly Swim 2, our way of giving listeners a space to get away from the manic holiday bustle.
For those keeping track at home, Ghostly is wrapping up its 15th anniversary as an Ann Arbor/Brooklyn-based indie. 2014 has seen the company soundtracking video games (Playstation’s Hohokum), collaborating with awesome companies like Warby Parker and VOID watches, and clearing 300 releases of forward-thinking music with records from Tycho, Com Truise, and HTRK. What better way to end this banner year than to revisit one of our favorite partnerships from the past decade and a half?
Released in 2008, Ghostly Swim was praised for its adventurous survey of exploratory dance and pop music. Our curatorial focus has shifted this time around, moving further inward (spiritually) and outward (as far as our roster goes) to reflect the electronic underground in all of its hazy and vibrant experimentalism. Ghostly Swim 2 is a document of textured ambient zone-outs and woozy, granular house and techno that will help you find some downtime away from The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. So sit back, lower the volume, and enjoy our selections.

Michael McCarthy known in the music world as Orka Veer has captured the attention of The Collective Loop. He currently has three albums in his arsenal of exceptional music; however, I would like to talk more about his first album "Sam's Solution". This album came about due to Sam, a friend of Orka Veer's who has autism but used his personal talents to help those in need, which inspired Orka Veer to do the same. Orka Veer used his commitment to music and his selflessness and altruistic giving, and with his longing to cultivate these ideologies through his music, Orka Veer released and freely distributed his first full-length album "Sam's Solution". The album was later remastered through his record label Feudal Records and 100% of the profits benefited an autistic charity.
If that doesn't capture your heart then wait till you listen to this album. It's structured with perfection and flow and it feels as though it's one whole track with many layers. Sam's Solution will have you feeling clear minded as you start to feel your mood change and inspiration starts flowing in. I have been listening to this album for a couple days and each time a new sound arises or a new mood forms. So with that being said, go and download his album "Sam's Solution" for FREE and experience it for yourself or have a listen to the album below.

Damon Sheeley of The Bear and The Sea had released a couple of months ago his remix of Common's "I Used to Lover H.E.R." with the intention of slowly creating and releasing a handful of selected remixes as a FREE release. It was a tribute to the hip hop world through his hazy instrumentals that give a filter feel to his tracks. So here it is thanks to Nueva Forma the new EP Everything is Everything. My buddy was in town last weekend and while he was here we decided to throw together a dubstep mix. It was a one time run through so there maybe some mistakes but there is no mistaking that this mix is raw and dirty. My friend DJ Indigenous who started up his Unit2Productions blog also has it on his site. So if you want more mixes then head on over to his site. In the mean time take a step into this Dubstep!

I was pretty excited about finding .default magazine this morning. It is an online magazine that focuses on design, art, culture, fashion and music. It brings together artists from different fields and showcases there skills. Currently, they are up to issue 10 and .default magazine started up back in June of 2010. I would highly recommend checking it out. It has a smooth interfaces that gives reading an online magazine a fresh feel. If you don't believe me check it out for yourself.

Twitter sometimes you help me find some pretty awesome stuff. Like the frontman of Fleet Foxes releasing a FREE three song EP. It definitely was a treat seeing how Robin Pecknold band will be releasing a new album in May called, Helplessness Blues. So providing these three new songs I think it will hold me off till the new album comes out.
Pecknold who recently recorded this three song solo in Los Angeles, gives us a little explanation: "One is a duet with my friend Ed Droste from the amazing band Grizzly Bear, one is just a new solo jam, and one is a cover." The cover is of "Where Is My Wild Rose", a song from the New Zealand folk singer Chris Thompson. The Droste team-up is called "I'm Losing Myself" and features some haunted, feathery harmonies. And the new solo song is called "Derwentwater Stones". You can download the EP here.
Just a heads up this EP is quite mellow with an acoustic stripped down feel to them. Pecknold also want to add that, "These aren't Fleet Foxes songs, but I didn't know where else to disseminate it". So everyone Enjoy!

Fleet Foxes Frontman Shares Three New Songs
Recently, I found producer Hard Mix on Myspace and immediately became a fan after hearing his track "Memories" which I used in my Playlist-23 mix. His style to me is like chillwave-pop with some interesting use of backward vocals and samples with his synthesized-laden jams.
Yesterday, I was made aware by Dovecote Records that Hard Mix was generously giving away his new Defaults LP. In order to get yourself a copy you have to become a fan of Hard Mix on Facebook first, which you can do on Dovecote blog post. After that, a box will appear and bam! You will have some new music to fill your ears.
I personally have been jamming out to this album since yesterday. It's basically been on repeat and I'm still enjoying it while I type up this post. So show support and get your copy today! I also added a video below that gives you a little insight into who Hard Mix is.

The Collective Loop is proud to start The Collective Loop Mixed Series. So welcome to Volume I of this series. I asked my good friend Skillz to start off this mixed series with a mix of some good old 2-Step. If you remember, I did a post about Skillz last year almost to this date about him taking all of his vinyl and turning it into a collection of mixed speed garage sets called the "Speed Garage Chronicles". Well he is up to Chapter 14 so if you're a Speed Garage junkie like we are then I suggest you start filling those ears with dirty basslines. In the mean time have a listen to the new mixed series below.

Back in September of 2010 I talked about the Atlanta band Kinisi who had a track "beach frogs" featured on Playlist-18. Kinisi is the creative project of Speros Constantine Kokenes and he was nice enough to notify me via email that he has completed a New Album called "Sun Battle Soul".
He states that it's a fully instrumental composition meant to be listened to as one complete work. The concept of the album revolves around a theme of the organic vs. the inorganic, exploring the harmony and disharmony that results from the interaction of the physical world and the mental consciousness we experience and questioning where/how time exists in this relationship. The track titles serve as a (admittedly ambiguous) program guide for the story of two characters who's crossing of paths results in tension, hostility, and ultimately resolution.
Did I mention that it's available to download for FREE. Also don't forget to check out his other two EP on his bandcamp site.

It's amazing what an iPad can really do if you know how to use it. I guess you can do anything. Take Damon Albarn for example he created a whole NEW 15 track Gorillaz's album with nothing more than an iPad and additional instruments. It was all recorded while the Gorilla's were on a 32 day North American Tour this year.
The album entitled The Fall is nothing less than talent. This album has nothing but great songs that bring different eclectic mixes of synths into great sounding tracks. This is not just a diary of the bands 32 day tour it's also a feat to show what can be accomplished in a short period of time. It's only 47 minutes long but I can guarantee that it will flow nicely on repeat. Oh! I forgot to mention the best part about this album. Damon Albarn has been generous enough to share the whole album over on their website for FREE. Head over to Gorillaz.com to check out the album, where it’s available to stream or can be downloaded for members of the fan club.

On my random image search I came across a Mixtape Series album cover I thought was cool. So I started to dig for the original source and I stumbled upon The Comprehensive Mixtape Series. This Mixtape Series looks like it started about 9 months ago and every 3 months a new one becomes available. I have to give props to the creator of this site due to the great collection of tracks within the mixtapes and the mixtape covers are very eye-catching as well. Oh, did I mention that these mixtapes are Free to Download.

Greg Gillis, the man behind Girl Talk, has released his new album All Day. Which has been the buzz on Twitter. The reason for that is because Girl Talk is known for his success of mashing up independently successful artists into a solid track and on top of that he is giving away his album for FREE.
This is his fifth album, featuring 12 tracks with 372 overlapping samples of hit songs. If you want to check out the tracks that have been sample than click here. Girl Talk was even kind enough to give the list of the sampled tracks. He does ask though that we listen to this album as a whole, rather than bit by bit. For sake of making things easier, however, he has been kind enough to break it down into more manageable pieces. This is a must have album. It will have you rocking all the way through.
You can download the full album here

Millonyoung is the works of Michael Diaz a Florida resident who self-released his debut, "SunnDreamm EP" in 2009. Millionyoung uses soft tempo dance beats amongst crispy acoustic recordings and hazily hypnotic samples. Diaz who's vocals are hypnotic and soothing to the ears will have you transfixed in his music in no time. I would put his sound in the chillwave/dance category. His music reminds me of bands like New Order, Washed Out, and Toro y Moi. I'm surprised it took me this long to find his music. I found out about Millionyoung from the Nueva Forma Episode 9 Playlist with his song "Cynthia" which is on his new EP "Be So True" which was released on January 9th, 2010. After that I was hooked and had to have more.
Millonyoung who has been a very productive man. He has a bunch of music available, some for free, some for really cheap, and below I have added some tracks of his for your streaming pleasure. If you like what you hear then head on over to download "SunnDreamm EP" for FREE. It really is as sunny and dreamy as the title suggests. You can also buy his other EP “Be So True” from iTunes and if you check out his site you can also download the song “Feel The Same” for FREE as well.

So after many hours of enjoying the listening pleasures of Nueva Forma's podcast, I'm excited to share it with all of you. Nueva Forma got it right with their podcasts. They not only have great album covers but a great choice in music. For the past nine months they’ve been creating these wonderful mixes featuring artists from their own label and also guest artists. One of my favorite things about these podcast is the added voice commentary at the beginning, middle and end of the podcasts. It gives it an added feel to the whole mix.
Their current podcast Listening Pleasures Episode 09 hands down is a fantastic podcast this month. This podcast has some amazing tracks by Blackbird Blackbird, Tanlines, Millionyoung and many more… It has the right balance from start to finish. Nueva Forma even made four tracks available as free downloads. Click on the download links in the tracklisting to get your tunes courtesy of A Gap Between, The Bear & The Sea, and Miori on the Nueva Forma website. If you like what you hear they have many ways in which to subscribe so you will only be a click away from good sounds. So start your listening pleasures.
