I'm a geek and I'm cool with that and one of the thing that this nerd likes is robots. Who doesn't like them right? I came across the photography of Thomas Jackson. In his collection you will find that he has a strange robot friend who helps with chores around the house. While the robot is completing his duties, he is surrounded by different light sequences or structures that are almost alien like. It's interesting as you go through his work. It tells a story in a silent fashion. I also took a gander of his new work which I highly recommend checking out. The lighting sequences are amazing and the development of the photography gives it a dark and ominous feel to them.
When you think of a sculpture you think of statues or things that don't move. Well this is not the case for one artist. Theo Jansen who is a talented Dutch artist that creates kinetic sculptures which resemble animals and are able to walk using the power of wind. Jansen is looking to eventually let these creatures roam free on the beach to live on their own. These creatures use different styles of wind capturing and also have an understanding of if an obstacle is in the way and it will walk back in the opposite direction. Below are some videos that will give you an understanding and a demo of these animari and their creator.
I thought this was so interesting and would love to visit this bank. The Santander's Group City in Madrid is a huge complex city/company; nine buildings sheltering 5,500 employees of one of the largest banks in the world. This place seems so big that you wonder how you are going to find your way around and not get lost. So the company of course thought well how about a Robot to assist in this area. So they hired YDream to come up with a robot that could be like no other in the world. YDream then built the fleet of little red guys called "Interactive Guest Assistants" that use swarm interactions to guide high rolling bankers to their next conference or to the lunch room which ever they prefer. There's also a giant virtual wall full of financial gibberish presented in fancy ways, even an augmented reality map of the complex, all shown in a video below.
