DJ Earworm I have to give him props on his mashup skills. From what I get from his site, he has done 3 years of the United State of Pop Mashups of the top 25 songs of the year. He has done a great job of cutting up slices of sounds and his use of different acapellas's and what is more impressive is the timing and video chopping that goes with the mashup's. In the light of seeing the Avatar in the IMAX theater and watching it's amazing scenery and characters I wanted to talk about Alex Roman and his works. I was introduced to this artist by the good people at IS050. Alex Roman's work to me is amazing to say the least. He is so detailed in his work from the walls to the lighting positioning. I wonder how many hours it takes him to just complete one still of animation. I would have to say that this is some great CGI work cause when you watch the videos it looks so real. The videos were created using 3dsmax, Vray, After Effects, and Premier.

I have included some stills from the videos and also some of his videos from Vimeo. What is great about these videos is that the music goes with the movement of the images and was timed nicely. I'm not sure what came first the music or the video.

Cellphones are a growing part of everybody's everyday life. So we are always trying to stand out and find different ways to show who we are by the accessories that we carry with us. So in that being said, let take a look at some of the concept phone designs that will not go to production, however, could meet the criteria of a you phone.

The Mobile Script phone offers two touchscreens and one of them can slide out to view multimedia files.




The LG Helix when not being used as cellphone also moonlights as a fashion accessory by transforming into a bangle!


The Samsung WM is yet another concept that gets the tech kingdom and the fashion police closer. It is a watch and a mobile phone combined and looks like a remote control.


Typing long messages can be irritating hence the Mimeo interactive cellphone looks like the perfect solution. Sam James Chu’s concept is brilliant as to dial or send a text you need to write it down on a surface.

I recently became familiar with Gregory Alan Isakov music and man was I missing out. Isakov song-craft lends to the deepest lyrical masterpieces. Some of the influence that I hear in his music is some Iron and Wine and who doesn't love Iron and Wine.

Because while some music fans might not consider themselves fans of "folk," they still bow at the alters of Jeff Tweedy, Andrew Bird and Jolie Holland. Gregory Alan Isakov has released a new CD called "This Empy Northern Hemisphere" and I highly recommend that you pick this up. If you are like me and looking for intelligent, rich songwriting with superb folk music sound then this my friends is a treasure.

The New Alice in Wonderland movie is expected to be out in theaters in March of 2010 and the trailers are already out. So I wanted to give props where it was deserved to Tim Burton. He has done an amazing job from what I can see on the design and capturing the imagination of the world of Wonderland. Most of us remember the cartoon movie from our childhood and we all are looking forward to seeing another version.

In this version the 19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror. This is going to be a classic for sure. Check out the trailers and stills below. Let me know what you think about this movie.

I came across the works and sculptures of Simen Johan and wanted to share his work with all of you. His work involves nature themes and is often hauntingly contemplative and slightly disturbing. Simen new works were just displayed in an exhibition this year called "Until the Kingdom Comes".

In his work, Johan blurs the boundaries between the real and the unreal, re-imagining worlds that, much like our own, are forever a mystery. Majestic animals in fantasy landscapes are set in relief against a darker reality. The work addresses primal experiences, shaped by desires and fears--solitary paths towards imagined fulfillment.

Being one who loves graphic design and web design. I'm always looking for new ideas and creativity when it comes to finding some new inspiration for a new project. It is also fun to search for different designers and styles to sit and try to figure out how they were able to make that or what gave them the inspiration to create their works. So are you excited to find out what was chosen as 2010's color of the year? (Drumroll Please). The color of the year is ANTONE® 15-5519 Turquoise, which was chosen by Pantone. Pantone is a company that are experts in color.

Turquoise is a slightly greenish shade of cyan. The color is based on the gem turquoise and the term comes from the French for Turkish.

Choosing the color was "a very thoughtful process," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "This is not something where we just idly throw darts at swatches and decide. 'Well, that's the color.' We're attuned to the emotion a color evokes, what it makes people feel like."

Pantone's research shows turquoise evokes thoughts of places to escape (like a tropical beach) or a talisman that provides protection, Eiseman said. The color also was among the top 10 chosen by fashion designers for their 2010 collections.

The color of the year is chosen from what I assume is for fashion and designing trends that will most likely occur in 2010. Turquoise is a color most people view in a positive light that works well for men and women and pairs nicely with most other colors, the company said. So if your looking for a new color to paint your walls for this year than Turquoise is your color.

Turquoise succeeds 2009's Pantone Color of the Year, Mimosa, a sunny yellow hue. I for one enjoy 2010 color better than the 2009 choice.

Google Chrome OS is an open source operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. Announced on July 7, 2009, Chrome OS is set to have a publicly available stable release during the second half of 2010. The operating system is based on Linux and targets specifically designed hardware. Google Chrome OS will be targeting the netbook sector for their operating system. With a strong focus on speed, the Chrome OS promises nearly instant boot times of about 7 seconds for users to login to their computers.

The first Chrome OS netbooks will be available in late 2010, It will not be available as a download to run and install. Instead, Chrome OS is only shipping on specific hardware from manufacturers Google has partnered with. That means if you want Chrome OS, you'll have to purchase a Chrome OS device. (Kinda lame in my opinion).

Chrome OS netbooks will not have traditional hard disk drives -- they will rely on non-volatile flash memory and Internet-based storage for saving all of your data.

Why Should Not Use IT?

1. Google Chrome OS is not for free.
2. Will not be available for download to run and install on your laptop or Mac.
3. It will only be available at the end of 2010 & you have to buy a Chrome OS netbook approved by Google only.
4. It requires Web access to run applications.
5. Chrome OS netbooks will not have traditional hard disk drives
6. It will depend on internet-based storage for saving all of your data.
7. Google encounter problems with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) for bundling Google Chrome browser with the OS, just like Microsoft did with its Internet Explorer?

So today I thought I would share a few websites in which you will be able to start building or adding to your font collection. DaFont is one of my personal favorite websites that not only gives me a huge number of fonts to download. The fonts presented on this website are their authors’ property, and are either freeware, shareware, demo versions or public domain. The licence mentioned above the download button is just an indication. Please look at the readme-files in the zips or check the indicated author’s website for details, and contact him/her if in doubt.

2. Abstractfont

Abstractfonts is one of the largest website in offering free fonts to its users. Currently they are offering over 12,933 free fonts and still growing. Each of the fonts has a customizable string preview, character map, member comments, similar fonts as well as a font info tab with all kinds of helpful information about the font.

3. Search Free Fonts

SearchFreeFonts is a website with a very simple layout. It helps you find free fonts by category. All free fonts have been manually categorized for easy navigation and best free font searching experience!

4. WhatTheFont

WhattheFont is a very cool website that allows you to upload a file on the font you’re looking for. Once done it will find you the closest match they have in their database.

I did a blog last week of some strange and funny images that used Photoshop to give it a creative and different approach. One of the last pictures of that blog was done by Romain Laurent. I thought it was an interesting concept and was intrigued to see more of his work.

Romain Laurent is talented French photographer, who has been known to work with large commercial agencies. He has interesting ideas and a deep sense and understanding of his ideas and they are captured in his work.
