When the early years of the Internet were growing you had a source of many web search engines and Google wasn't the king of search engines. You had many choices like Ask Jeeves, Hotbot, Alta Vista and many more.
Let;s look and see how the web has changed the faces and designs of these search engines. Let go back to the future and compare the past to the present.

I wanted to post a blog about this program called Qik. This program was brought to my attention by a friend of mine. So I check it out and got some information on the software.
Qik is a mobile live streaming web application that allows users to stream live video from their cell phones to the internet Qik enables users to record and upload video directly from supported cell phones. Qik, a Silicon Valley startup, launched its alpha version in December 2007 and went into public beta in July 2008.
As of April 2009, Qik supports about 128 cell phones for its software. Qik videos can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and many other online web 2.0 sites.
On April 2009, Qik was the first mobile video service to support Facebook Connect. It allows Qik users to automatically post videos directly to their video collection or wall and does not require them to install additional Facebook applications

Long Exposure Photography is something that I find to be quite interesting. Long exposure photography is a technique that requires a slow shutter speed to capture light and movement. When an image is taken including stationary and moving subjects (for example, a fixed street and moving cars or a camera within a car showing a fixed dash-board and moving scenery) using a slow shutter speed, interesting effects, such as light trails occur. Long exposures are easiest to accomplish in low-light conditions, but can be done in brighter light using neutral density filters or specially designed cameras. Here are some cool long exposure photos.

Pandora has a contest going on right now to find out what does the new American Music look like? This is Pandora's 3rd Annual Poster Contest with the help of Levi's® Company.
The goal was pretty simple: create a poster about Pandora - the rest is up to your imagination. So I thought why the hell not. I wanted to give this a shot and see what my imagination had in store for me. Plus it had cash involved as well but that was not my main motivation.
It will take some time for my profile to get setup and my entry validated. Then you the public will have a chance to vote. Here is how the contest will be judged.
Grand prize: $500 cash prize.
Runner-up: $250 cash prize.
Editor's Choice: $500 cash prize.
Here is my final poster design

While Sony's OLED TV is little more than a beautiful, 11-inch novelty, LG is swaggering dangerously close to a respectable kitchen TV with this 15-inch AMOLED TV prototype.
OLED displays (organic light emitting diode) are the wave of the future. Even with this economic downturn that we are facing, manufacturers are working hard at providing these elusive screens to consumers. Recently, Samsung announced that they aren't planning on creating large OLED displays yet while Sony jumped on the 3D bandwagon.
LG Electronics plans to make its OLED television available for commercial sale in Korea in November and elsewhere early next year. According to Reuters, LG is also planning to launch a 40-inch OLED television "in the not too distant future." By 2013 production of OLED TVs is predicted to reach 2.33 million units, according to the research company DisplaySearch.
OLED is an emerging flat-panel display technology that uses an organic material in the pixels that emits its own light, so a backlight isn't needed. That helps make the displays thinner and much less power-hungry. OLED screens also handle fast-moving images better and offer richer color reproduction than current LCDs (liquid crystal displays) and PDPs (plasma display panels).

Electric automobiles have been around since the beginning of cars and only made periodic comeback attempts until recently. Here, Tracy Myers, president of Seaway Engineering Supply of Oak Park, shows of the Comuta-Car, which cost $4,995 in 1981 and could go 40 miles on a single charge.
Walkman generation
When music first became portable and cool. Here, two Sony vice presidents show off different models of the Walkman, the original on the left and the other Tiffany silver-plated.
What will they think of next?
If you were trying to find a Father's Day present in 1987 for the dad who has everything, you may have been tempted by the pocket ticker. The $435 beeper, plus a $60 monthly service, provided up-to-the-minute sports scores plus results from the local race tracks.
Home computer
The cost of setting up a home computer in 1983 was, from left: printer $499, cassette recorder $59, central processing unit $1,000, modem $149 and graphics printer $995.
Cell phones getting smaller
In just four short years, the cell phone went from fitting into a brief case to fitting into a a chassis the size of a brick. Here, Chicago businessman Ed Lang conducts business out and about in August 1989.
