This is one of three Orient Houses built by Ryall Porter Sheridan Architects. It was built in Long Island Sound which is between the Greater New York/New England regions. This beautiful home was suited with large panoramic windows to pull the view into the space creating a true connection to the location. Home's with large windows are something I would look for in a home to give it that open and large space feeling. I also like the choices of earth tones and dual colors to make that house feel warm and cozy.
I'm a sucker for Ghetto Blasters of the past but TDK is bringing back the boombox with a new line of boomboxes updated for today's technology. There are two models, the 3 Speaker Boombox($499) and the 2 Speaker Boombox($399). The difference between the 3 speaker and the two speaker is that the 3 speaker system has a dedicated subwoofer in the center. Both stereos have a glossy finish with a touch screen control panel and it also has the classic retro shape of the OG (Original Gangster). The touch screens on these boomboxes are embedded into the front of the device, similar to those found in many Smartphones. Each of these boomboxes have the option to be plugged in or battery operated. Both models have USB, 3.5mm and RCA auxiliary ports to connect a variety of music sources. There is also a larger auxiliary port that allows you to connect a guitar or microphone in case you want to jam or sing with your music. These boomboxes will become available online starting in January 2011 and should be in stores by Februrary.

Christmas is only 23 days away and you're still trying to find that perfect gift. How about getting one of these bad boys. The Logitech Revue with Google T.V. ($299). The one stop shop to turn your TV into the future of entertainment. Revue is a companion to your TV and not a TV itself, so it can be easily updated. Plus Google TV is an open platform, with developers creating more apps and functionality next year, so your TV will do more as Google TV does more. One of the great features of the Revue is the fact that your Smartphone can become your remote and even do voice search's for those that are lazy and don't want to type. I admit I'm one of them. You can even watch a video on your phone and then push it to your TV. The only drawback of this media hub so far is that Hulu doesn't work on Google TV yet, but that can change in the future. More than likely you will have to pay for Hulu Plus for it to work. There are way too many functions for this box so I have added some videos to show the demo of this hub.

I don't know how to pronounce this visitor center but it is definitely eye catching in design. It's located in the eastern part of the national park that surrounds Europe's largest glacier. The Snaefellsstofa building is shaped in an X design and was designed by Arkis. The materials are as usual concrete and beautiful untreated wood. I'm a sucker for these types of materials. If I'm ever in Europe I would surely visit this visitor center.

Lumadessa is a little art and design label by Josh Brill. Focusing on limited edition art prints and design products, that implement premium materials and production methods. Resulting in timeless works with longer display lives. In these limited edition prints is his Flora Fauna Birds Edition which is full of different styles of birds. The Flora Fauna collection is a cataloging of the design identities of plants and animals from around the world. Examining the visual character differences and similarities of species. A field guide of discovery, beginning with birds. For each of these prints that are sold 5% of the profits are donated to Animal and Environmental charities which I think is a great idea. Here are a few of the designs. If you want to see more than head on over to his website.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving NBC has hooked up with illustrator/director Nathan Love. In these 30 second promos to the viewers of NBC wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving. He does this with none other than the friendly and wildly goofy peacock.
Each of these commercials have a comedic edge to them. Especially the second one. I also wonder if he got his color palette choices from the old 1962 NBC Laramie Peacock animation. Either way I enjoyed each of these promo's. So Happy Thanksgiving from Damion DJ & Producer Blog. If you want to check out more of Nathans work than head on over to his site. I'm sure you will recognize a lot of his other works.

This home was designed as a weekend getaway for Merrill Wright, a Seattle resident, by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects. Tom is known for houses that are both beautiful and noteworthy. This is one of these homes which was built on a 15-acre site in San Juan Islands which is off Washington State. The home is 2,200 sq ft with a sod roof and tall steel framed windows. It's has a main space of 61 feet long and 12 feet high, with a large kitchen at the back of the home and a living and dining area overlooking the water in the front of the home.
The location of the home is beautiful with the view in the front. The use of the rocks in the surrounding area's also gives texture and style to this concrete and glass home. The entrance to the home alone which is cut into the rock gives it a cool and warm feeling and style. One of my favorite things about this home is the terrace which has an outdoor fireplace and a window wall that pivots opens like a door.
