The Morten family was looking to redesign a barn but were unable to do find any. So what was the next thing they could do? They built a summer house in Gotland, Sweden, which was just as simple as a barn. The 64-square-foot home was built with just one single room with two sleeping boxes at each end of the house. Being that the house is just one single room. I think they did a great job on utilizing the space that was available to them. What do you think?
I'm digging this series done by graphic designer Nick Agin. In his "Old Timey Star Wars" series where he basically captures not only a galaxy far, far away but also an era from the past. Where being in your Sunday's best is the way to go. My favorite one is the Pvt. 1st Class 1057 Storm Trooper. Check out more of Nick's work here

This is the first radio I think I have come across that is made of cardboard and is a fully functional radio/mp3 input player. Did I mention also that this radio is fully recyclable, No! The Cardboard Radio ($34) was designed by Christopher McNicholl with the intent to manufacture a design that would make a more green approach once the product had met its end.
The internals of the radio are housed in a simple cardboard structure and the device itself is also minimally designed, which is somewhat appealing from a design standpoint. It’s powered by 4 AA batteries or DC power (power adapter not included). It also comes with two nice retro dials and an audio jack to allow you to hook up your mp3 player or smartphone.

Hengki Koentijore see's himself as a "Amateur" photographer but who is he kidding. Most professionals would love for their work to look this good. Hengki shots most of his shoots with his Nikon D700 and Canon 5d Mark II alongside a 120 film camera. The ones with more grain seem to have been taken with the film camera. I have only posted some of his work. Check out his site and see what other jewels that I missed.

Damon Sheeley of The Bear and The Sea had released a couple of months ago his remix of Common's "I Used to Lover H.E.R." with the intention of slowly creating and releasing a handful of selected remixes as a FREE release. It was a tribute to the hip hop world through his hazy instrumentals that give a filter feel to his tracks. So here it is thanks to Nueva Forma the new EP Everything is Everything. Download here for FREE or stream it below!

Beach cruisers to me are not that beautiful or elegant in design that they usually are not that impressive to me. However, this Almond x Linus Summer Bike ($1,300) is another story. It gives the term "beach cruiser" some real meaning. This bike was developed in collaboration with Almond Surfboards and Linus Bikes to produce the ideal combination of surfing and biking. They chose to use Linus' Roadster Classic model, which combines a single speed coaster break with a more commute-friendly frame, and it features a handmade cherry wood crate and leather top tube covers, as well as a board rack from Block Surf and your choice of Almond's Sandia Fish, Pogie Fish, Kookumber, Quadkumber, or Sea Kitten shortboard. Not a bad deal at all.

Google last week quietly joined the travel category with the launch of Google Flight Search, a web-based tool that lets you find and book flights with ease. The best part of this new tool is the minimal design of the site. This user friendly version is great because it provides all the info you need without all the clutter. Everything on the site is easy to navigate while still being clean in the design. I would tell you how the site works but I think the video below does a better job. So if you're looking to book a flight soon give Google Flight Search a try.

Dovecote Records is a record label that I have been following for quite a while now. They're also no stranger to The Collective Loop. A number of the artists like Hard Mix, Jonquil, and Wise Blood have all been talked about or have found themselves on the monthly Playlists. So today, I wanted to spread the word and share that Dovecote has just released a Fall Ziptape with 15 FREE mp3's of their artist lineup. In order to get your free download you'll have to "like" them on Facebook. I think that is a great trade off and I don't think you will be disappointed. Plus, they have a funny sense of humor over at Dovecote. Find out more about the artist and the label here.

I will be playing again at The Hookah Lounge
in Clearwater on September 17th from 10pm - 2am. You should come on out
and hear some good ambient/indie/dubstep for the evening while you enjoy
your delicious hookah. They have 65 different flavors of Shisha
for the picking. It's $15.00 bucks for unlimited and $8.00 for a
single. If you haven’t been, it's well worth checking out. See you
there!
