Simone Back has strapped on a pair of snowshoes and lumbered out into freshly fallen snow at Les Arc ski resort, located in France since 2004. Each of his works can take anywhere from 6 hours or two days to complete while he slowly tramples out geometrical patterns, foot print by footprint.  All these image below where just from last week but you can see several more other years on his Facebook.

A South Korean advertising company Welcomm Publis Worldwide has created a series of iconic musician as earbuds for the Sony Earphone campaign. The earbuds are "dressed" in various famous characteristics related to each musician - recreating legends in the field such as Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley and Mozart. Which one is your favorite?

Kota Hiratsuka a Japanese paper engineer has created these complex and beautiful origami mosaics. They rely on cut and folded geometric patterns to create these images below. Kota plans on turning these designs into various templates as downloadable PDFs through his website but not just yet.  In the mean time you can check out more of his work on his site and on Flickr.

Designer Madella Simone has come up with a new type of concept bike. MOOBY which plays with the word mobility to show that this one-speed is up for the challenges of urban riding. It even offers a modular system that makes it possible to re-skin your ride with a more personalized graphic. That means you can keep on changing the look depending on your mood. Simone hopes that more riders will be drawn into the fashionable style and opt for 2 wheels over 4.

These new Eco-Resorts in Parque de Pedra Salgadas, Portugal were designed by Luis Rebelo de Andrade and Diogo Aguiar.  They consist of a set of seven small houses in perfect harmony with the surrounding of nature. Designed in a modular prefabrication system they adapt nicely to specific places within the park, these houses result in several different combinations of the same three modules (entrance/bathing, living, bedroom and create a different morphological atmosphere within nature.

The Homemade Gin Kit ($39.95) lets you make your very own Gin at home without all the expensive equipment. It doesn't require you to set up a distillery. Instead, the kit takes a bottle of Vodka (not included) and makes you “steep it with the included juniper berries and carefully selected, hand weighed spices, botanicals, flowers, and aromatics.” 36 hours after you start the process you’ll have a batch of about 750ml of gin, which you can pour in the 500ml and 250ml included bottles. So get your drink on with your very own homemade Gin.

These portraits are just breathtaking of the north face of the Matterhorn. Nenad Saljic has study the north face for over three years and he has captured this iconic Alp structure no less than a thousand times.

He uses a black and white medium and has demonstrated how weather, light and composition can drastically change a photographic subject through time.

Nenad states, “I want my images to compress the passing of time – the beauty of the wind and the clouds dancing around the mountain.”
