Welcome to Bikespiration 16! In this installation we have some bikes that bring about the feeling of spring and summer.  Imagine riding one of these slick bikes around town. In the meantime before you can ride out today enjoy some of the inspiration.

Designer Basten Leijh created the custom build bike dubbed "Sandwich Bike". A Dutch Design original that was inspired by the concept of flat packing, home assembly and our never-ending drive to create exceptional products. Now it is time to share it with the world, so that you can get involved too.

The Sandwichbike fits in a small, flat package, so we can send it to you by post. The fun will begin the moment the postman rings your doorbell. Everything you need is in the box including the tools, so you can start assembling right away. In total, there are less than 50 parts. If you can make a sandwich, you can surely build a Sandwichbike.

Brandon Todd Wilson is the creator behind The Numbers Project where he will make a new number everyday for 2013. Here is a little bit on what he said about the project:

"So it only took me 100 days to do, ha but the numbers project has its own little micro-site so that its easier to check them all out. Really as a way to make sure i'm not doing something I've already done. I also made it mobile friendly thanks to bootstrap so that's cool i think, so here is the numbers project’s new home."

The Zeit Eco electric scooter takes a new look at individual urban transport and entertainment. With Zeit Eco scooter freedom of mobility becomes accessible to everyone. The scooter has a spacious glove compartment that can fit your personal items such as tablet, purse, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Zeit Eco also allows you to keep all your gadgets and devices charged with a built in USB port. A single charge can provide up to one hour or 15 miles at full throttle. With the fold down handlebars and footrests you can also take it on the go.

If you're a serious chess player then your going to need the World Chess Championship Set ($450). It was designed by Daniel Weil of Pentagram, this board is currently in service at the 2013 World Chess Championships in London, and as such is approved by the World Chess Federation (FIDE). It features a 3.75" King, and it comes boxed for presentation, with each piece individually hand packed, and a 50cm Rosewood and Maple board featuring the World Chess Hexagon.

Irina Blok took on a challenge of redesigning condom packaging to get out the message of protecting your junk.  Here was the challenge:

"We are looking for a Next Generation Condom that significantly preserves or enhances pleasure, in order to improve uptake and regular use. Additional concepts that might increase uptake include attributes that increase ease-of-use for male and female condoms, for example better packaging or designs that are easier to properly apply."

She wanted to answer the challenge of reinventing condoms from a graphic design perspective. Perhaps the biggest problem with condoms is the boring packaging, and not the actual product. Creating compelling artwork could encourage people around the world to actually use these." This is how Irina Blok announced to take Bill Gates up on his challenge to design the 'next generation condoms' by redesigning packaging. What do you think?
