Here is a series that will give you a visual approach on the important things in life. Erin Hanson has created this intuitive series to show that most people "want" everything, but they really only "need" enough to survive. I thought this was a pretty clever series. I also checked out more of Erin's work and was quite impressed with the various ideas she came up with. Stop on over to Recovering Lazyholic and see more of her work.
I came across Dan Matutina's work this morning while trying to find some inspiration for the day. Dan Matutina a.k.a Twisterfork is a designer and illustrator based in the Philippines. His illustration style is a mix of handmade and digital, clean and dirty, old and modern aesthetics. The colors and the shapes and tones are what are really driving the force behind his amazing work. I have put a couple that I'm really liking but don't let that stop you from checking out more of his work.

Philipp Igumnov a.k.a Woodcum's is the creator of some fun collages and illustrations that strike a balance between funny and melancholy. Perusing through his Flickr this morning had me finding some of his work just funny and ridiculousness and others had me intrigued with a since of the past mixed with the future. I have only put up a few of his works so be sure to check out more of his work on his Flickr.

A private family home located in Israel's urban neighborhood has a minimal design with huge design aspects. The home's exterior looks as though it's just a plain white box, nothing really fancy right. Within the box though, long horizontal lines have been opened which connect the house to its surroundings. These lines give a feeling of being frozen in time inside this box. The openings also make it possible for natural light to penetrate during the day, while at night, light seeps out into its surroundings. With having all this light fluctuation, it gives this home a more radical surrounding, then those of other urban homes.
The home's interior is simplistic and has more industrial tones but modern at the same time. The fact that most of the walls are bare and only some decorations are used, gives the home a clean sharp look. I also enjoy the openness of the lower level with the large open windows. Imagine a nice day with all the windows open and music playing while you're relaxing in the pool. You couldn't tell me that wouldn't be awesome! If you want to see more pictures you can check them out at Architizer.

Someone asked me the other day if there would be a time when watches would no longer be worn. In the era of technology it's easier to just look at your phone. However, I don't think that watches will lose their purpose anytime soon. Watches are not only used to tell time but also to accessorize your style.
This fall if you're looking for a watch that is not only stylish but puts another twist on telling time to give it's unique style, then the Nooka - ZAZ watch is for you. The ZAZ model ($350) doesn't show the time like any other watch, instead of using numbers like on digital watches. It uses 24 bars to indicate hours and 60 bars for the minutes, filling each one according to the specific time over a transparent screen, which gives the illusion of displaying the bars right over your arm. So if you're looking for something different and futuristic then this watch is definitely for you. The watch comes in three different versions; they have it in black and white with leather bands or steel mesh ones.

So begins the slow descent into the days where our evenings become darker and the sunsets become a haven of beautiful colors. With this realization the only thing I can think of to match that feeling would be a new Playlist to fill your ears with music that matches the harvest sunsets. Lastly, here are some recommendations on some new finds like Goyte, Korallreven, Ghost Town DJ's and more.. that you should check out.

If you've ever wanted to know what some of the fun and slick no handed bike moves are, well then your in luck. Ninian Doff has created a professional display of 50 No Handed Bike Moves, performed to "Golden Tree" by Martin Brooks. So the next time your cycling around with your friends you can show them your new found cool and useful no handed moves. My favorites are ‘The Wind Check’, ‘The No Big Deal’ and ‘The Drummer’. For now though, I'll be working on my sweet moves while sitting at my desk. Check out more of Ninian Doff work here.

Matthew Lim, a recent grad student has created the EcoVinyl ($350), a turntable-headphone duo made from sustainable materials. This was created to help Sennheiser a German audio company boast their branding and draw in a younger crowd with this product. The company has already introduced sustainable packaging so how about taking it to the next step with sustainable products.
Lim created this duo by choosing high-density fiberboard, which is often used in audio-system closure boxes. He used cork for the turntable and the earphone headband; and aluminum, which he CNC'd to produce a durable body. This ready-to-go set has a small carbon footprint with 45% fiberboard, which is recyclable and biodegradable. The metal body that it comes in can easily be removed with an Allen wrench and recycled. This product however is still a concept and Sennheiser has yet to commit to Lim's project. Either way, do you think this would help the company change it's branding to a younger crowd? Seeing how the company has been around for 60 years and only about 10% of headphone consumers knows who this company is. Leave a comment, would like to see what you think.
